One other thing I was wondering about is Buchio the nekomata’s green eye color.
He appears to be a calico variety of the Japanese Bobtail cat breed, and they can come in a multitude of eye colors, including green.
According to Wikipedia:
The Bobtail cats are considered to be a lucky breed and to own one promises prosperity and happiness. The tricoloured, Mi-Ke (pronounced ‘mee keh’) is known as the luckiest colour for this breed.
p.s. I believe Buchio, having 3 colors, is a Mi-Ke.
