Moe refers to the attachment one can feel for fictional characters.

The term is of Japanese origin, and if you google it, you will get a description claiming it refers to youthful, cute, girls.

But this isn’t actually how it gets used. Different people like different characters, and as such, there is no one given character archetype to which it can be applied. It describes the feelings of the viewer, not the character.

One of my favourite example of this is how Oozaru Subaru, a Japanese vtuber, uses the word to describe how she feels about BT, a character from Titanfall 2. He is a 40-ton 3-story robotic war machine.

It’s distinctive definition is that it describes the emotions related to fictional characters, as they are different from the attachment you would feel for actual people you know.
