I know of the institutionalized rape, slavery, and mass murder committed by Japan. None of this makes me want to justify mass murder of civilians in response. Dropping the bombs was verifiably not about beating Japan or saving american lives. It was purely to stop the Soviets from joining the Pacific theater, so they wouldn’t get their seat at the peace negotiations.
