the confirmation message might be getting caught in a spam filter
the message will be coming from @auth@auth.fediverse.events, if you’re unable to see the message, check with your administrators to see if the account got limited
We added author.fediverse.events and our instance is linked now. I see the account on our instance as of 3 hours ago, I just tested again and I’m not receiving a DM. I let the admins know about checking if the account is limited. This is a Lemmy instance though, not sure I’d that changes things.
Edit: some people are getting codes actually, not sure if its a me issue now.

Maybe it’s still syncing with the instance. That’s the only thing I can assume.
