All things considered, that huge display of power went better for her than I expected. Rather than turn the country against her in fear, they roll out the red carpet.
She could have overthrown the country any time she wants. The fact that she hasn’t means that she’s not antagonistic towards the country - yet.
Naturally, the country wants to get on her good side before anything happens.
The king and the queen were smart - turning the country against a non-hostile but powerful person would be a big mistake.
Good teamwork by the King and Queen to feel out Yumiella and discern her true intentions.
Although I really don’t understand why nobody believes she’s level 99 after 2 level sensing stones, and casting black hole.
Solid political moves by Yumiella too, to get rid of Glasses, and make Eleonora her friend.
The young prince is an idiot though. If he has any siblings, I’d be looking at them to inherit the crown instead.
Yumiella’s main power is not her level. It’s her poker face!
The king and the queen sound surprisingly reasonable, in comparison with their idiot of a son. It’s clear what they were trying to do with Yumiella (gauge the threat, minimise the threat, bring her to their side), but it’s rather transparent and non-manipulative.
Glasses guy was cringe as fuck, it was fun to see Yumiella chewing him out. On the other hand Eleonora sounded like a silly girl in love.
This season has had at least two monarchs that seem to have the best interest of our isekai’ed protagonists in mind, this series and Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic. It’s nice to see monarchs in fantasy not exclusively be portrayed as mustache twirling evil.
We get to meet Eleanora this episode, the character that seems much more fit for a Villainess role than our quiet, stoic Yumiella. However her head is too full of thoughts of the prince to worry about things like that. Hopefully, after meeting her, the ED makes a bit more sense for people that were confused over why this unknown character seemed to be singing a love song. It seems as though Yumiella has unwittingly made a friend in Eleanora.
Also, I don’t know why I hadn’t really checked this before, but Yumiella is voiced by Ai Fairouz, who you might know from previous roles such as Delta (Eminence in Shadow), Power (Chainsaw Man), or Hibiki (How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift?). I was surprised because, to my ear, Yumiella sounds nothing like those characters. Some great VA work!
Edit: I just want to add that the OP for this show has really grown on me. I wouldn’t say it is my favorite I have heard so far this season, but it is on my shortlist that I don’t mind listening to at the start of each episode.
