Yes it is, because the HW is completely unnecessary, you can emulate it perfectly on a potato. It only serves a nostalgic purpose, which is also fine, but in all other aspects it is completely obsolete.

Except for a fairly tiny niche community of users still using them for nostalgia reasons, the NES is absolutely also ancient and obsolete in every way and has been for several decades.

That’s not them bricking it though. Yes it’s shitty build quality, but that is an entirely different issue than them bricking equipment that still is very much functional from a HW perspective.

I have no trust that lifetime is in fact lifetime, and the price is also too high compared to the product value IMO.

I refuse to support companies with subscription based business models.

The free tier limitation is that it doesn’t work with jellyfin

“Continue show” often doesn’t work and picks an episode that I’ve watched long ago and not the next in line, often never updating it despite watching several episode over several weeks, even if they’re marked as “seen”. After pausing a show or movie and closing the app, if I want to continue from where I left off, well that doesn’t work consistently either, usually it will just restart from the beginning. Switching language pretty much just doesn’t work at all, it will either never change from default audio language, or use an entirely different language than the one picked from the list.

Jeælyfin also has this, is just doesn’t work on appleTV

Yeah that’s the one I’m using on our appleTV, it’s buggy as hell. “Continue” show often doesn’t work and picks an episode that I’ve watched long ago and not the next in line, often never updating it despite watching several episode over several weeks. All these things work perfectly fine from a browser or official app on android.

Is there something better than jellyfin? I’ve been using it for a little over a year, and it works for the most part, but clients are often pretty buggy (especially on apple apple devices)

All the above points are valid except for this
requires an Internet connection.
You can easily download for offline listening with spotify. Even piracy will require internet connection for later offline consumption, and getting music from physical media is way more work than most realistically want to do today.

IMO the issue is not that OP shared a video, it’s that they shared a video from YouTube that’s the issue.

What WAPs are you using?

I’m looking for a new router and some APs as well, and this one seems to offer what I want at a somewhat decent price point…but good lord that thing is seriously ugly, everything about it is just terrible.
Edit: oh it doesn’t do POE, then it’s not interesting as an AP

I use an app called Everyday Tasks, it’s just local on my phone, no need for hosting anything.

What’s the benefit here? Regular HDDs have more than enough speed for watching movies/series, why not store directly in the “library”?

It’s a US based company, and judging by your use of Euro I’m guessing you’re in Europe…it’s expensive to import stuff from the US, that shipping cost probably also covers VAT. Check out servershop24.de if you’re in Europe

Probably $3.5 tops
Yeah no you’re just using the wrong words to describe your issue.
