But you don’t need 8 of them, do you?
Just that those ext disk aren’t built for 24/7 usage. They will die faster and generate bigger costs over time 😉
And maybe some juicy data to recover 😏 honestly, which enterprise sells its old drives? That is calling for a data leak, isn’t it?
Sure, you can compare to what else you would do in that time slot, but money would be the more general thing (you can compare better, since everything is in the base of money)
Back to your example: time spent on each task is equal -> same value invested but output may have different value (game skills/progress vs IT skills/progress)
So since investing value is the same for both task, you can ignore that part and concentrate on the output.
Well, you can calculate how much money you would make in the time you do hobby, entertainment and eating. And I bet, “everyone” includes some people, that see setting up home/private IT not as hobby, for those people the comparison is like spending time x or paying amount x (data or/and money) (you could compare it to housekeeping) In such cases it makes sense to give the spent time a value in data or money, so that it is comparable
Maybe you spend time on selfhosting and now you have less time for other things that need to be done and now you have to outsource it (for money) giving time as well calculateable value
On a financial aspect, self hosting is more expensive most of the time, if you convert time to money, even if you calculate using less than 100$ per hour (In my country we charge about 200$ per work hour)
This is very smart 😃 never thought about that
Only 1.92 Tb? But 12Gb/s 😊 nice, like half of the speed of my internet 😂😜
😮wait, nonono, internet is only 25Gbit/s not byte, woops
My friend prepared me a router using OpnSense FOSS software on a APU board with 3 Ethernet ports and some other debug ports (usb and VGA) So my internet input is now like this -> coaxial cabel -> ISP modemRouter in modem mode -> Ethernet-> OpnSense APU -> Ethernet -> WiFi access point / Ethernet switch -> WiFi access point satellites
As wifi access point, I use a Orbi WiFi router in bridge mode. My tv streaming device is connected via Ethernet to Orbi and has the full 600mbit down that arrives at my home 😇
😮really, that would be really not intuitive design, have to check this on my OpnSense, in that case
But generally, ads are always blocked, tho.
Edit: See pic for how tailscale describes it:
I understand it so, that your DHCP (your tailscale and for me OpnSense) will give the complete DNS list to devices, and those decide how to handle DNS lookups and may prefer mullvard prior AdGuard and thus will show ads. If that happen, you have to disable mulvards DNS server by removing it from the list.
I would install AdGuard as docker container and set the IP with which this Container is reachable as Nameserver (DNS) in tailscail
You can most likely leave the DNS server of mullvad as second priority so you have a backup if your AdGuard container is not reachable
But im just a noob with a sysadmin friend, lol
Plug your phone into the pc and choose to trust the PC. This should share your mobile internet with your PC
I use it all the time, when I distrohop on my laptop with a wifi card that needs to download b43 from the internet before WiFi works 🤪
Definitely unplug existing router, else you may end up with a doubleNAT… I have a physical opnsense (without wifi antenna) plugged between my IPS router which in modem mode and another proprietary router which acts as bridge and wifi access point.
44gb for 1080 seems to be a remux file, which is the source of channel not converted but only repackaged. Just remove remux from your profiles and sed radarr to upgrade to other 1080 profiles by moving remux down in the list.
Something like this?
https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/remote/vscode-server
https://hub.docker.com/r/ahmadnassri/vscode-server/#!
You can try it on github for free using the “.” Key of your hardware keyboard in any git to open it in a Microsoft hosted web instance of VS code. Works even on iPad.
Edit: Oh dear, i guess you meant this by „code server“ sorry did not read to the end/and the beginning not properly, lol.
I use the password app in nextcloud. I really like how the app is integrated into iOS. I have set it to be my only autofill and migrate the passwords manually when I need them. For whatsapp, my solution was to delete it and all other meta accounts some years ago without backup 💁🏻♀️ matrix is my messenger of choice, btw. We defeat the slowness of NC with enough power, I guess, but a more efficient service would surly lessen our electricity costs (but we invest in solar in long term anyway) About photos, I have honestly no clue yet, and since my girlfriend definitely keeps her fotos there, and we have a shared photo library, I fear I’m pretty stuck there. Additionally, I have invested quite some time cleaning it by deleting shitposts from the old WhatsApp times.
So your complaints are mostly about the mail app? Because I have not tried that yet, mail is something I have not yet moved away from iCloud… I think, we are not at 1 Tb data in NC yet, will remember what you said when we reach that and everything is on fire 😅 What do you use for working simultaneously on the same file at the same time, if may ask, I’m interested in learning more about NC alternatives.
Just go for kubernetes
