I use the shield with an alternative front end/launcher.

I’d vlan anything cheap and Chinese. It’s pretty much guaranteed to phone home and send as much info about your environment as possible.

I agree. Unfortunately I don’t think u/jfb-pihole is on Lemmy and they’re one of the devs (I think) for Pihole. Best of luck with your issue!

One last piece of advice: Pihole has great support. I’ve gotten a ton of answers and assistance from the Pihole Sub on Reddit. I don’t know if it’s still active since the migration away from Reddit, but you may ask.

Yep, not having DNS/DHCP is a pain in the ass. When mine went down it would take my network with it because the Pihole was handling both. Expected but also a pain in the ass.

Taking a look at your Pihole logs is going to be helpful. Also knowing what kind of device is running the Pihole software may also help.

I had Pihole running on a raspberry pi 3 years ago, and I had pretty consistent issues. I’ve run it on other hardware since without a problem.

It could be an issue with the SD card, if you’re using a raspberry pi. I’ve also read that the log file can grow large enough to cause issues with your Pihole instance.

So there are a number of possibilities.

At work we are using anydesk and boy… Even the paif Version isnt really Taster than the free one imho. Rufst is the next one i wanna try. About the openong ports. Maybe run it in a docker Container? For me a self hosted solutions also Sounds super nice and i gonna Look into it.

Yep, I had the same with my TS-453, but mine was second hand. Ended up buying a new QNAP NAS and being very happy with it.

I have a QNAP NAS that I love. Can’t recommend it enough.

Not the person you were replying to but wanted to thank you for explaining “season 17.” Do you know or can you recommend a guide to which seasons of Bleach people should watch to avoid the filler while still understanding the arc? I’m interested in watching the reboot but I haven’t seen anything past a handful of seasons.
