Nice! Hope this time the message reaches more people, last year I saw a lot of commenters that would’ve participated but didn’t know about it.

It is, but it’s probably not the reason of death for those two. They were already really popular and freed themselves from the “shackles” of regular serialization. It’s especially rough on emerging authors who can’t afford to say “no” to their editors.
I’m personally against it lasting so long. It’s fun because it’s short, if it lasts that much it starts turning into a chore.
From what I’ve seen it screams “we could’ve probably released a good game with another year of development, but who cares, it’s still gonna sell”.
Most Isekais are Novels. Barely any pressure in writing for most of those companies (or at least, not that type of pressure).
90s kids just need to come to terms with the fact that Pokemon is for children.
It’s not “for children”, it’s “all-ages”. Like Mario. And that doesn’t stop it from releasing almost consistently great games.
Its target audience is irrelevant to the matter, it’s simply that Gamefreak got lazy as fuck and just decided to go for the easy cash.
Well yeah, you might be right in that sense. I was focusing mainly on the “sexualization of minors” part, which is pretty much absent in Jojo, but if you factor “unhealthy relationships” I can definitely see the issue (you also forgot how arguably the most liked character in the entire series had an illegitimate son with a woman 42 years younger than him, that’s not really ok either lol)
…but the minor isn’t sexualized and the “unhealthy relationship” is portrayed as creepy. It’s the exact opposite of what the post is criticizing.
Plus it’s like one scene in one episode out of 190. Most people probably forgot about it after two episodes. Demonizing an entire series for less than 0.5% of it is kinda pointless.
Uh… you mean the orangutan in early Part 3? That’s like one episode and it’s clearly portrayed as creepy, while also not sexualizing the girl at all.
There’s like hundreds of good anime that fit the description (as other comments highlight), you’re just looking in the wrong places if you agree with this meme.
You’re obviously going to find sexualization of teenagers in most series aimed at teenagers.
Thanks! I did get quite some help indeed, love to see it
Love this! You can really see how some art was a certain instance’s pet project.
Can I request my pixels? I worked at the Hololive zone and I’m curious of how much help did I get (I’m guessing quite a lot, even from the holes in the .world canvas)
I disagree. Even people on Reddit thought once a year was too often, twice will definitely lead to burnout.
We could definitely do it yearly because the community is growing and a lot of people didn’t even know it was happening, but more than that will just turn it into a chore.
Again, how is it different from the Firefox logo? Or Osu? Or Hololive? If a company or product is well-liked it’s to be expected that users make art to honor it/get more people to know it.
I don’t see it as much different from things like the Firefox logo tbh. As long as it’s being done by regular supporters and not the party itself though, sure.
I think we kinda exaggerated with a 1000x1000 canvas, Lemmy is nowhere nearly as big as Reddit in 2017. A 500x500 would’ve probably made a more interesting experience, but maybe the reduced cooldown can fix that now.
Lemmy users on all: Technology, Politics, Cats
Lemmy users on Canvas:
Wait… so 0:30, 1:30, 4:30, 13:30, 40:30, 2h 1m 30s? That seems longer than now, did I misunderstand?
I’d be more in favor of reducing the 6-pixel cooldown to 20 minutes, but this is fine too.
Is there even a fund for Lemmy and Mastodon in general? I thought people donated to the single instances.
