Wotakoi is still available on Prime Video actually. It’s a relic from the year they decided they were going to get into anime simulcasts before promptly giving up on it.

Super excited for this one! I don’t usually find a manga before the anime but this is one of those. I read the whole thing in a couple days and then found out it had an anime on the way!

Doing a quick estimate, that means each movie should be roughly 2 hours with not too many cuts for time. That’s probably needed here since cutting things seems like it will be difficult in a show with this sort of pacing.

I’m really looking forward to these, but mostly in the hopes that we’ll be getting another season afterwards. Do we know if they’ll have new animation or is it just the original series edited down for movie length?

I made the mistake of thinking I could just show up to the theater and buy a ticket. Ended up having to push things back to one of the later showtimes. Great movie!

I love this show, but I wouldn’t have watched it if I knew anything about it beforehand. The main character and his actions are just so disgusting. However, I was sick in bed with Covid and looking for something new to watch while I couldn’t leave the house. I remembered a friend had told me about an anime that’s supposedly so good they had to make a whole production studio just for it. Season 1 had finished airing months earlier too, which was perfect because I knew I wouldn’t run out of episodes anytime soon… I ended up watching the whole season that day.

Did anybody else start out watching anime on the Nintendo 3DS YouTube app? That thing could only load video at a max 144p and you had to infer what the subtitles were saying based on the shape of the blury smear that ueed to be words.
