My brother in Christ, Rudy literally kidnapped, bound and SA’d two little girls in this episode. Not once in the entire narrative has he ever been shown as an unambiguously good character, he has always shown varying (but non-zero) levels of degeneracy. It’s just how his character has been written, he is not your conventional white knight hero.

About Mushoku Tensei, the differentiating factor is that there is some visibly higher degree of effort involved in making it. The difference in art and animation quality is immediately noticeable (they take no “shortcuts” unlike all others), not to mention its deep world-building and how it treats none of its characters as black-or-white. At its core it is still just an above average isekai, but more importantly it’s a high-effort endeavor throughout.

Yes, the first season felt good to watch but it quickly gets old. Just like Jujutsu Kaisen, there isn’t a solid story or character growth to hold you to it.

These are two series I feel like I watch just for the sake of completion.

FMA:B is loved because it is just well-made, original source notwithstanding.

It is one of the rare cases in anime where a series gets a graceful, well-done ending. Its tone, storyline and pacing are complete, well-balanced and consistent in quality throughout.

I’m not sure that posting this here is right or not, this isn’t Japanese anime. But it’s awesome, so whatever.

Bit disappointed they replaced S1’s banger OP and ED, but at least the background score is the same. Also, the combat animation in S2 was the best I have seen in a long time, I don’t think I can recall any anime that did it better.

Loved the Sol guy’s lampshade hanging over Rudy’s suffocating attitude throughout the beginning. It’s time he gets over it already, he didn’t suffer as much before even when he was teleported, beaten, imprisoned, berated and literally killed. His sensitivity is rather inconsistent and unpredictable.

The flaws in Rudeus’s character are not something that viewers just have to tolerate, they are a very crucial part of the plot. Highlighting the contrast between the characteristics of his current and past self are pretty much the main point of the show.

Good episode, I especially loved that circling around scene when Rudeus breaks out of his trance, looked like a trademark MCU scene in a way. As usual, the ED rocked and blended in perfectly.

The tones in JJK get too serious for what it’s actually trying to be, which is a high-budget action-comedy shonen. It’s one thing to have a story filled with death, tragedy and dark tones, and it’s another to have one with goofy characters kicking ass in a lighthearted environment. JJK falls flat with its implementation of mixing them, unlike so many others that do it better (e.g. FMA, Re:Zero, One Piece etc).
