Ohhh this makes sense now Special Forces Operator Miles Davis used a single trumpet to devastating effect in ear canal take over actions all over the world in the 1900s, I have heard, I just wasn’t putting two and two together to get 4/4.

edit fyi it appears Miles Davis didn’t accomplish these foreign intervention actions alone and had a Brass Militia of highly trained horn operators helping out in the background.

it’s a stupid inside joke that went out of control years ago over at r/ich_iel and while it’s sometimes done here it’s not nearly as often.

Have y’all tried the “beating a dead horse before they can” joke vaccine strategy? In the US we use strike teams specially trained to neutralize dad joke outbreaks before they can Meta-stasize by activating sleepy agents to penetrate into local communities at the periphery of the pundumbick origin (usually monkeys or bats) with highly specialized mom jokes (your mom’s jokes NOT your mom jokes RTFM NOT RRFK) that innoculate the general populace and reduce the likelihood of child mortality.

If all else fails me and your mum resort to extreme carpet bombing tactics via The B52s armament of XM420 “Love Shack” Chud Buster MeowKnitshuns (we call it “Operation Vibrating Thunder”) and while a lot of people assume it consists of a militant scissor actions, there is actually usually none, just lots of “ohs?” from people learning new things.

Don’t take my word for it, though I have obviously never spoken to them it is obvious in my heart that Shakespeare And Company agree though they may paris jabs better than I can ever hope too (I am a graceful hoper at least and at rest but not at Trieste).

Hey USian here again with another probably kind of /s tupid question.

What kind of gun is that kid pointing at the girl in that photo? I have never seen a kid with a gun like that here in the US, only handguns and stuff, that doesn’t look like it is very easy to conceal and I would be worried about the penetration power of it.

(I made a seperate post because for alternate idea)

Have you considered hosting a lemmy instance yourself and possibly preconstructing lemmy threads in some bulk fashion with gifs grouped by topic or theme and just use lemmy itself as the platform to share gifs?

Just because lemmy threads were created to mimic reddit threads doesn’t mean we are confined to only using lemmy as a reddit-like tool…

Just an interesting thought I had shrugs

  • …ok I know I always recommend dokuwiki for everything but it is super easy to set up and doesn’t need a database or anything and it comes stock with a nice gui media manager and a lot of plugins that extend that functionality.

If you are willing to provide or pay for the hosting of a large amount of images I don’t see the reason to go with anything more complicated though you may find something more minimal that suits your needs.

    https://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki

    https://www.dokuwiki.org/tips:cms

I don’t know if there is a way to handle metadata for non-jpg images but there are a number of ways you could organize gifs including photo namespaces.

    https://www.dokuwiki.org/media_manager

or using the imagebox plugin and just directly put tags in the caption

    https://www.dokuwiki.org/plugin:imagebox

or a number of other ways probably.

The nice thing about this solution is all the data is accessible and in plain text readable markdown which also makes it easy to strap other things onto, search through with whatever tools you want and easily run a backup process on (especially since everything is neatly contained within a folder).

Don’t make the mistake most people of thinking dokuwiki is only useful as a traditional wiki, it is such a simple and general tool that its power extends far past that.
