I like this idea. Wasn’t it used in the 2023 Canvas?
Nuked by the admins, or by other users? I think either is fine in this case, I’m just curious.
Yes, there is a 2024 Canvas Atlas: https://toast.ooo/post/4202022
Congrats! Only seven people ignored the rest of their lives more than you did :)
I wonder who won in the end?
Thanks for setting this up, it looks great! Just submitted the !hellointernet@feddit.uk territory now.
LOL, I hadn’t seen that! Thanks for sharing.
Why? Were the Germans allied with The Void or something?
Works (mostly) fine in Firefox for me.
whoever is doing the bread/toast
I believe that would be the host instance for this entire event, toast.ooo.
Thanks! Looks like a good start! I notice that there are some dark red pixels at the edges of some regions. I suspect this is because the original source image has black gridlines overlaid. Also, some of the colours don’t match the available colour palette exactly. Would you consider tweaking the template?
Thanks! :)
I should have paid closer attention to the “⇧” character in the keybinds menu…
Anyone else encounter an issue where they refresh the page and see only recently placed pixels?
I’ve also been getting some erroneous “You already placed this colour at this location” messages. Maybe the pixel is there, but it doesn’t show up at my end.
@grant@toast.ooo, any idea what might cause this?
Edit: Firefox on Windows, Firefox on Andoid.
Anyone able to get the Pixel Whois feature to work on desktop? Longpress on a mobile device seems to work, but left/right click doesn’t seem to do anything.
Woohoo!
Got a bit of disconnection and some “502 Bad Gateway”, but I’m placing pixels now!
Edit: Seems to be down again…
Edit2: It’s back up!
Welcome back!
No worries! You’ve already done more than is expected!
Thanks! Seems pretty nifty. Cool how any embeddable image can be overlaid at an arbitrary location on the canvas, rescaled to any size, and shared with a link. Well done!
Is there any way to load multiple templates at once to see if/how they overlap?
Templates, baby!
