“Warning / 2026-08-14: After two and a half years, Bethesda has announced an incoming update to Skyrim. Please be prepared.”

I started with modded Skyrim just before that previous update and wish I had got such a warning before it happened. It’s pretty easy to keep a copy of your current version someplace where it won’t get updated.
