New year, new season of anime! It is Spring 2026 time! So, it’s time to talk about the shows that have already started airing and what will be airing in the coming days. RE:Zero is great, but it’s hard to watch. The main character is one of the biggest losers I’ve ever seen in an anime. The show’s saving grace is that the writer actually knows this.
Most isekai are really bad so you’re not missing much tbh. RE:Zero is good. Konosuba is good. Vision of Escaflowne is good (and very different). There’s so much good stuff airing right now there’s no reason to worry that you’re missing out though.
Wjs018 mentioned Witch Hat Atelier, and I completely agree that that show is going to be incredible. Since you mentioned you liked Fullmetal Alchemist I also want to bring up Daemons of the Shadow Realm. It was written by the same person who wrote FMA and it’s also being animated by the same studio that animated FMA. I’ve read ahead in the manga and it seems really good.
