The art direction of this anime is exquisite. I’m starting to like it more than The World Is Dancing.
I’ve already set my eyes on Suzu’s resourcefulness, and she’s finally got more screen time to shine.
Is Yosuke keeping Seiroku’s framed picture on his table?
Finish the phrase, Kihachi! He is what? HE IS WHAT!?
Boy, was I wrong about Yosuke. He’s such a fascinating antagonist. One more episode of his antics and he’s becoming my favourite character of the season.
This show’s sooo good, it’s just a spectacle to behold. Yousuke is definitely very interesting, it’s like he hit his head in that first episode and then just became his current erratic self.
Seiroku not coming back from the war was so traumatic for Yosuke that it completely rewired his brain - and changed his hair colour as per 2nd episode’s opening sequence - so that his already strong feelings (of love? adoration?) for Seiroku turned into an obsession with the promise between them. The promise he clings to as the only thing that still connects him to Seiroku and which he considers his and his alone and doesn’t want to share with anyone. I mean, liking a handsome guy with a handsome voice is basic, but at least Yosuke’s not normal about it.
Anyway, sorry for rambling, he’s just so entertaining to watch, and I’m happy to see people acknowledging it instead of finding him off-putting enough to consider dropping the show.
It’s fascinating to watch the love octagon around Seiroku getting filled in.
