    Did I understand it correctly that they arrived at one lake, cleared it of toad-monsters, but was carried to another lake which is the ‘true’ one?

      Unless something changed from the novels, no. The goddess’s spring is just only active in the way we see for that one night, which is why it was mundane earlier in the episode.

        I see. On checking the anime did not show them spending time traveling back to the camp after monster-clearing and I assumed they slept next to the spring, but it seems the camp was actually some distance away.
