    I remember watching the original series in 1997 on shitty VHS copies at our party house (like 15 22 year olds living in a house together, parties every night) with like 60 people all stoned and drunk. Good times.

      It has to be the highest quality remake any anime has been given so far. One can only hope the new One Piece anime goes this hard

      Yeah, crazy the amount of effort they put into this, especially that this show didn’t really age well IMO. I loved it as a kid, but the tropes aren’t as funny anymore as an adult.

        Something about the tropes are grandfathered into my brain. If a new romcom came out with a similar vibe I probably wouldn’t have bothered, but wrapping it in nostalgia hacks my brain.
