This is straight up fanservice
I really like the character dynamic between the group. The motivation was very clearly established and the food just wants to escape from my screen straight into my stomach. Very similar to Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill where the food is animated so over the top.
In the future I will need to establish a strategy for watching this show as a mealtime entertainment. This can’t be watched without food.
It’s so much fun to finally see her animated, and by Trigger, no less.
Went in without any real expectations and ended up really enjoying it. I just hope they manage to get around to saving the sister while it still makes sense for her to not be fully digested…
i give the premiere a 4/5 and look forward to being hungry every week
Same, went in blind, only because so many people were hyped for it. And I can see why, it was a lot of fun. Though, I agree that they are oddly chill about the MC’s sister considered she is on an unknown clock to being digested and unable to be revived.
Like, is there timer measured in weeks? months? years? That’s awfully long.
Technically, a person that has died within the dungeon has their soul trapped in it. With a suitable spell, they can stay dead indefinitely, and still be revived. But for the same reason they forego reviving the dude they found in the plant, it gets increasingly difficult the worse condition the body is in.
I also set up !dungeonmeshi@ani.social, I’ll be posting fanart and the like that I’ve collected over the years of reading the manga, as the anime progresses.
Yeah it’s great. Some people consider it to be one of the top 4 fantasy manga along with Frieren and Witch Hat Atelier.
An oddly quiet style of animation for a Trigger series.
It’s not grabbing me yet.
The elf mage seems useless and annoying so far.
As someone else pointed out, it seems to share a food porn aesthetic with the Campfire Cooking show.
