Shueisha's latest Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (Issue 43) announces that Yuto Suzuki's popular SAKAMOTO DAYS series will receive a live-action movie adaptation.
Wild choice. I did enjoy the manga, and the anime adaptation was fine. I feel like a live-action movie done with just the basic idea of the story (retired hitman who owns a convenience store with his family) would work, but when they inevitably try to use the source material verbatim (other than what they decide to ruin), I’m sure it will turn into a real mess. Hopefully an interesting or funny mess at least.
