I really dislike those one-dimensional comic villains. They actively make me dislike whatever show they are in. I hope this was a one-off to get the girl to show off her abilities, but I’m out if there are more of them in the next episode.
This episode delivered on a lot of what I was hoping for. We saw lots of bits of worldbuilding as Akira is learning about the world he finds himself in. We also get some new characters to like and one that is a lot of fun to hate. The animation team really put their all in the fight scene this episode. I am looking forward to learning more about OWEL in the coming episodes.
Interesting second episode. Definitely enjoyed this episode better than the previous. I’m still not completely sold on it, especially since the antagonists so far are just pointlessly evil, but I think it still has a chance to improve. The animation was solid during the fight scene, too, so that’s something to look forward to. Curious where the plot is going to go, at the very least. If it’s just knock out the bad guys because they’re bad, that’ll be disappointing, but the ED pointed to there maybe being a bit more to it. Well, fingers crossed, and I’m actually looking forward to the next episode.
Well, the only named antagonist we’ve seen so far is the equivalent of an RPG end-tutorial villain. I’m assuming that the people at the higher levels of his organization have actual motivations and backstory.
Turns out the far futuristic show is more of a fantasy show than the fantasy shows this season (so far).
